Amanda (2)

I am going to bed now.

It is my turn to go to sleep alone…
wishing that you were next to me,
wishing that you were holding me in your arms,
wishing that I could feel your breath on the side of my face,
wishing that I could smell you next to me, so close,
wishing that I could feel the touch of your skin against mine,
wishing that we could luxuriate in each other’s presence…
as lovers for all time.

Goodnight, my darling.

Amanda (1)

I want to fall in love with walking up behind you and putting my arms around you while you are preparing dinner.
I want to fall in love with the way you “wash your fish”.
I want to fall in love with seeing you drying your hair.
I want to fall in love with the way you ask me to do things for you.
I want to fall in love with helping you do things.
I want to fall in love with the way I feel when we are out together and people see us.
I want to fall in love with surprising you when you least expect it.
I want to fall in love with seeing you relaxing in the evening.
I want to fall in love with the way Lily twists you round her little finger and gets her own way all the time.
I want to fall in love with feeling so lucky that I found you.
I want to fall in love with you… the real you.
And I hope that you can fall in love with me.

China: Frightening but so alluring

When I delivered my neighbour to the airport 6 weeks ago for her flight to Islamabed we had both been pre-occupied with trying to reduce the amout of baggage she was trying to take on the plane (her understanding of English doesn’t seem to extend to the word “limit”), so I had not really noticed any of the other passengers.  Today was different.

Today I went to Glasgow Airport to collect her only to find that her flight was delayed, so I had plenty of time to mooch around and “people watch”.

Emirates Air uses Dubai as a main transit hub for people going from Europe to Asia (and back) and I realised that there were many Chinese people queuing up to check in to the return journey of her plane.  People similar to those I will be sharing a flight with in a few weeks from now.

Every continent covered !

Hey… yippee, I just noticed… I got a hit from Brazil in the last 24 hours !!

Yeehaa… that means that every single continent in the world has now visited my blog !!

Thank you people !… No, seriously… I mean it… that has absolutely made my day !! :)

This might be a c**p blog, but hell !…. it’s spreading…

You people are wonderful !

Blogging for amateurs

Isn’t it marvellous ?!

You scribble away about things that seem important to you, and what sort of response do you get ?…. nothing.

Put up one post about GTA4 ( that’s Grand Theft Auto IV) and, all of a sudden, hitsville !!! :-)

What IS the world made of ?… Ha Ha….

Enjoy.

GTA4 is almost upon us, lovers

Grand Theft Auto IV is nearly, very nearly with us.

Well with you, actually, because I don’t have a games console.  I can’t justify the expense of something which would keep me glued to a screen all day, I have much too much to do on the computer ! So I’ll have to wait another few years, probably, before I get the chance to indulge myself, by which time it will be too late because I’m sure Amanda is not into gratuitous violence. :( (See earlier post)

Now you have to be the sort of person who is very “over 18″ to be able to play any of the GTA series, and having a particular affinity with wanton violence and blood-letting is a perceived bonus but, that said, some of the humour is just soooo off-the-wall….

As a taster for GTA4, Rockstar Games have released some “previews” based on it, one of which is the Love-Meet.net dating website.  Try it for yourself in a new window here, take the Personality Quiz, and then decide for yourself how many years they should lock you up for ! :)

Now who do I know who has a Playstation 3 or an X-Box 360 ?……

Invisible support network wanted : As of Sunday I’m giving up smoking

Yes I’m finally going to do it !

It was going to be last weekend, but I never got round to putting these messages up on my blogs (!)… well that’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it.

So on the basis that, from what I’ve seen, the blogging community is generally a fairly happy and supportive crowd… this is where you guys come in.

I’m going from 40+ a day straight to nothing… zip… zilch… so boy am I going to need some help !!! :-)

Bank wants to charge £20 and admits it will do nothing for it

I have been waiting for some money to arrive for some weeks now, fully expecting it to be paid directly into my account.  But no.  Yesterday it arrived as a cheque in the post.

Dammit!… I need that money, like “last week”.

So off I toddle to my local branch of Lloyds TSB, cheque in hand, and I ask the woman at the desk how much they charge these days for “special clearance” on a cheque.

“£20″, she says, “but it won’t make any difference, the money won’t be available to you any sooner.”

What !!??

Eco-tourism? The world’s greatest misnomer !

I had the very good fortune to happen upon a BBC2 program tonight about the Galapagos Islands.

For years I had thought that eco-tourism was a good thing… “ecological tourism”.

The Galapagos were very much in my top three ”places to visit before I die“.

No more… !  Oh no… that would be the biggest mistake I could ever make…
