Things that make me laugh (4)

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.

I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident.

Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a get-well gift and it was
one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of ‘tea’, which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.

My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was ‘just the cutest thing!’ My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.

Then she says, as only a mother would know… ‘Did it ever occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the toilet?’

How much will the US now Fidel in Cuba’s affairs ?

So after 49 years in charge of Cuba, Fidel Castro is to stand down at last.

I guess we can assume that preparations are already well under way in the White House to try to exert influence over Cuba’s internal affairs over the coming months.

Barclays profits down 1% to £7.1bn – Oh my bleeding heart!

Oh dear… here we go.  Brace yourself for a string of terrible announcements from the Big Five banks bemoaning the fact that their profits are down this year.

What do we think… will one of them have profits which have gone down by 2% …. or (heaven forbid) even more ?!… Panic now !

But there may be a solution….

Why learn a language which is “too stressful” to speak ?

I happened upon a headline over the weekend, on Yahoo I think, which said that the Oral part of GCSE language exams for school children in the UK learning foreign languages may be phased out because it was considered to be “too stressful” for them.
